Garson Unit & Alice Event - Set 3 Teasers

Posted on 11th June, 2021 at 2:53pm CST
Through a short official stream and some follow-up information on the official twitter and website, new Set 3 ATLAS cards have been teased!

Rage of Ascendants
Illustrator: Wednesday

The following information was translated from the livestream by our translator, Orenji_Reiji:

Rage of the Ascendants
-Activation condition: When a unit is dealt damage
-Synergizes with G&G Armament Factory from Set 1

Battalionslinger Garson
-Same stats as the original Cannonslinger Garson
-But the ability will be different

Next, we have an article on the official website discussing the unit setting for the new Garson and a tease of his effect, similar to last week's article on the new Paula.

Battalionslinger, Garson
Illustrator: jugemt
Unit Setting

Garson, who has a hyperspace "hangar" behind him, led his own armored unit, earning the nickname of "Hangar Boss" and being promoted to Major due to his remarkable results. He was entrusted with an army battalion of 500 people, and became known as the "Battalion Carrier". (Battalionslinger means he carries a battalion as Gunslinger means you carry a gun)

No matter where in Europe an Exvaders attack is launched, a battalion-scale force can be immediately deployed by simply sending Garson alone as a paratrooper on a sonic jet.

"I'm no good with heights. I still don't understand how those lumps of iron fly. That's why I enlisted in the armored division...Hold on, isn't that what I'll need to do as a paratrooper?" Garson complained.

Card Design Notes
Cannonslinger Garson, a unit whose illustration was popular, has returned.

It was only one of the basic cards in the demo deck, so it was hard to label it as strong, but his new form in the 3rd booster pack will be a high rarity card. Its stats have remained the same, but it will bring out a ridiculous card with its effect!

Translator's Note: Garson's nickname "Hangar Boss" is translated from "Sokoban", which seems to be a derivative of Banchō, similar to Sukeban, combining "ban" with the "soko" term used in describing Garson's hyperspace. We're going with "hangar", and thus "hangar boss" for now, since that translation best communicates how Garson's hyperspace works, but we'll learn the official translation when the 2nd booster pack releases in English, as the nickname is also used in Garson's flavor text on his 2nd booster pack print.

To wrap up the news on these new cards, we have a few comments from Ikeda's Twitter.

"Gunslinger" means someone who carries a gun. Therefore, "Battalionslinger" means someone who carries a whole battalion! (The name was created by Arthur, an American)

Garson can store the entire battalion under his command in the subspace he carries behind him, created with his Ascendant powers.

This power is utilized by the ATLAS forces for its convenience, allowing them to transport an entire battalion by just transporting Garson himself. Because of that, Garson, who is bad with heights, is often forced to parachute from an airplane.

He will return as a powerful card in the 3rd booster pack! More specifically, he will be able to search your deck for a type of card.

The new Garson from the 3rd booster pack can search your deck for a card from the 1st booster pack with its .

Its really strong. I personally like it, too.

He reeks of masculinity and the illustration seems to be a strong addition. (It appears to be popular with foreigners. Overseas, it seems like old men are more popular than beautiful girls.)

Last up! Ikeda popped into our discord at 11am today, asking the members about our favorite factions, seeming to be gathering opinions for what the next English promo cards will be. If you're not already a member, feel free to hop in and share your opinion!
