Following up yesterday's reveal of the new Paula, we have another discard target similar in function to Cat Monk. While Cat Monk carried the Familiar keyword for synergy with Shiori Laudia, Imperial Magus, Karmazov instead becomes a level 2, allowing for your Paulas to make level 3 Genesis Summons with ease. That function is much more useful overall, so in builds that only have space for 1 of these 2, Karmazov will very likely be preferred.
With a 2nd discard target revealed, the original Golden Ringdancer Paula from GB01 will likely be viable, with the option for builds that use both Paulas with Professor Karmazov and Cat Monk opening up.
Between Professor Karmazov and Cat Monk Genesis Summoning is also getting good diversity at dealing with sets, with Cat Monk able to get rid of sets safely with no opportunity for the opponent to respond, Karmazov is instead able to punish decks that flood their board with sets, like GB02 Red-Pink Apprentice loves to do with Yobuko of the Midnight Watch, Supply Unit "Aburuma", and All-Terrain Transport Crawler "Danny".
