[GB03] Gate Ruler Broadcast Station #13

In September 23rd's Gate Ruler Broadcast Station we first saw GB03's final new Ruler, 4. D - Dreadnought. Its a Drive-type Ruler that loses 1 HP and 2 Set Zones, and in exchange moves 1 of its drives to the battle phase and gains 10 levels to its upper limit.

For our card reveals, we got two new Yomajin Front units, the ★ Supernatural, Ox Oni Tenkai, and the ★★★★ Supernatural boss card, Shinno Akugorou. Shinno Akugorou was previously teased back in July.

All 3 cards revealed in this stream have been made available for use in Japanese tournament play immediately, via PDF Print-out. As per usual, these print-outs of Shinno Akugorou and Ox Oni Tenkai are only usable until GB03 releases.

Analysis

4. D - Dreadnought is a version of 1. A - Apprentice tuned for aggressive decks, exchanging 2 set zones and 1 life they're unlikely to need for an extra 10 levels and moving 1 of their drives to the attack phase, where it can be used to get in multiple attacks. While this is best used via abilities that activate upon entering play and can bring out additional cards (such as Creepy Cuddlies Capo Jenibarbie and "Hundred Yokai March") it still has potential to be useful in aggressive strategies beyond that as any turn you go into with a single unit still on board is a turn you can potentially get extra attacks in thanks to 4. D - Dreadnought's ability.

There's also the very potent combination with Sentinel Dragon of Foggy Vision, Mist Clock Dragon, a card that now seems like it was made specifically for use with 4. D - Dreadnought! Mist Clock's ability to ready your Ruler nets you not only an extra attack now, but also allows you to trigger 4. D - Dreadnought's on attack drive once again.

The new Supernatural cards, Shinno Akugorou and Ox Oni Tenkai, both make "Hundred Yokai March" far more consistent and able to bring out much more threatening units. Shinno Akugorou in particular brings a much needed boss unit to Supernatural attribute, with a Charge Shield esque effect using Damage Reversal, and a spammable unit damage effect to help clear your opponent's board.

Beyond the core "Hundred Yokai March" strategy, Supernatural can be found on a ton of cards in ATLAS and Wonderverse, there's potential for use in several different builds. In ATLAS, G&G Armament Factory and Specialist "Bullseye" Wolf could be used to boost the efficiency of his unit damaging ability.

Since its also a Demon Lord, Skull Butler and Rikori of the Cluster Amaryllis can be used to search for Shinno Akugorou reliably. Also on the subject of Rikori of the Cluster Amaryllis, Shinno Akugorou gives the powerful Snake Deity Reincarnation even more versatility, as you can use its Damage Reversal to avoid losing a unit. Just keep in mind that using it this way you won't get to remove one of your opponent's cards.
