[GB03] Gate Ruler Broadcast Station #14

In September 30th's Gate Ruler Broadcast Station, the remaining 2 units from the Crimenauts Biomutant Squad were revealed! This archetype had its first 2 units revealed in a batch of daily twitter reveals a bit more than 2 weeks ago.

Both new units are Level 1s, with the ★★ Biomutant Squad Monkey'detator and the ★ Biomutant Squad Shark'detator. Shark'detator in particular was teased back in early July and its from that teaser article that we know we're now done on unit reveals for this archetype, as that teaser article said there'd be 3 squad members + 1 capo, though we could still see an event or two supporting them.

Next week's Broadcast Station will at long last reveal the Ruler Buff for 23. W - Wizard!

Analysis

The two new Biomutant Squad members are probably not as generically useful as the new Biomutant Squad Bear'detator, but that isn't to say they aren't both very good.

Biomutant Squad Monkey'detator will probably be the least useful overall of the trio, as field cards are relatively niche in use, but it does get the easiest summon condition and a more generic bonus effect on top of that. However, it also has to special summon itself to an attack zone, making it much less effective defensively. On the other hand, in exchange for these drawbacks, it ends up as one of the most cost effective ways of destroying fields when its relevant.

Biomutant Squad Shark'detator on the other hand is much closer in power to Biomutant Squad Bear'detator. While limited to low level /, this allows it to disrupt Genesis Summoning, which has been looking to be one of the strongest archetypes in set 3, and a lot of its strongest plays involve the s of Paula, Prodigy of the Wizard Academy and Golden Ringdancer Paula.
